Wouter van Hulten is the founder of PAIX data centres, a Pan African cloud and carrier neutral data centre operator. PAIX was founded in July 2016 and in January 2018, PAIX completed its first African investment in RackAfrica, Ghana’s leading carrier-neutral data centre.

Before founding PAIX, he was with Interxion a leading carrier neutral data centre operator in Europe. Over the years, he was involved in various industry initiatives: initiating the Euro-IX Association in 2000, founding the Swiss Internet Exchange in 2001, promoting the development of France-IX in 2009, and launching Datacenters World Map in 2017. From 2003 until 2006, he managed Microsoft’s service provider business in the Netherlands. He was a Board Member of the European Data Centre Association until 2018, and is now actively participating in the creation of the Africa Actors of Data Center Association (ADCA).

He holds a degree in Software Engineering from Imperial College, and a MBA from INSEAD. Wouter enjoyed growing up in Mali and Burkina Faso from 1977 to 1984, and is now thrilled to contribute to the growth of the African datacentre industry.
